Hi, I’m Erica. My birthday was yesterday so I figured it was high time to get started on learning Japanese. I’m a 1/6 Japanese but my Dad didn’t see teaching us Japanese as practical (-__-) so I’m trying to learn as an adult.

I’m in Florida too actually; just started learning again a couple of weeks ago.Welcome! But… one-sixth Japanese?
Not entirely sure how that works, to be honest. Unless one pair of your grandparents are siblings. Or your parents are cousins. That’d give you six great-grandparents instead of eight, and then one of them could be Japanese.
