Hey! My name is Gabi and I’m currently a senior in high school. I’m really fascinated with languages and different cultures throughout the world. So, since I’m not currently learning a language in school, I’ve decided to take up Japanese!

I’ve been interested in Japanese culture since I was a little kid. I’d always look at oriental fans and lanterns and think about how pretty and different they look from things you see in America! That small interest has expanded, and now I’d love to travel to Japan someday and learn more about their culture! If I like it enough, maybe I’d even consider living over there :)

I will be attending art college in the fall, so that probably explains my interest in the art/design aspect of Japanese culture. I plan to go into metalwork/blacksmithing, so I hope if I broaden my horizons enough and learn more about different cultures throughout the world, I’ll be able to create beautiful things!
