Hello everyone! :) It’s nice to meet you all!

I’m Schyler. I was born in Canberra, Australia, but am currently living in St Heliers, New Zealand.

My father, who is in the military, has recently been assigned to a base in Japan. I love my dad to death, so I’ve decided to go with him, along with my mum, my little sister, Emilie, and our beloved Husky, Sy. Obviously, with moving to a new country that speaks a completely different language (at least the majority), it’d be smart to try and learn or adapt to that language. So, here I am. Doing the best a 17 year-old Kiwi girl can do to learn Japanese.

We’re going to be living in Shizuoka-ken, so if anyone from here is around there, it’d be great to meet, greet, and speak in Japanese, ne? I’m keen on also meeting some great friends on here! I hope we can help each other learn the language and get ourselves familiar, and even fluent, in the cultural beauty that is Japan/ Japanese.

By the way, I’m also keen on snail mail, if anyone’s up for that. But if not, let’s just keep up the good work, mates! :) See you all in Japan, fluent as!

If any of you would like a penpal from New Zealand, or just someone to accompany you in your Japanese studies, so we can study together, I have a number of social profiles: Skype, Facebook, Twitter, DeviantART, Mixi, Gmail, texting, etc. It’d be great to hear from you and to see how far you’ve gotten! :)

    Cheers, Schyler Bianchi.

Welcome! I didn’t know there were any members of the New Zealand military stationed in Japan. When are you going?

Joel: Actually, dad’s American. He’s part of the American military, and met me and mum while stationed in Australia. Which is why we move a lot. :L

But thanks! Nice to meet you! I think around August?

I’m William here and welcome you to the land of the rising sun and textfugu.

I hope you persist in your studies and wish I had your attitude and this resource when I was 17 (11 years ago).
