こんにちは!(Hello)
My name is Jonas (ジョナス or Lodellica online) and I’m seventeen years old and I come from Sweden! I have been learning Japanese for the past month or so here on TextFugu and today I just started reading Season two (hope you liked my money :D).
I’ve wanted to learn Japanese for a very long time but I have always been paranoid to start. One reason could be that “they don’t use the usual a-z characters omg!!” to “Hello Kanji, how about no”. I play osu! a lot, which is an online free-to-play rhythm game, which features a lot of Japanese music, anime theme songs and other things containing hiragana, katakana and kanji thingies! (If you play osu! and wonder what my profile is, here you go! http://osu.ppy.sh/u/1320092 ).
I decided to face my fear because I felt really inspired. I met someone online who spoke Japanese natively, who told me a bit about the language and it really interested me. Not only that, but this video really motivated me to REALLY try (go watch it, it’s awesome!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km9-DiFaxpU
Also, it would be nice to know what kind of music I’ve been listening to in the last two years, haha!
At the moment I know the hiragana syllables pretty well and I feel very determined to learn Japanese! (hoping that keeps up). I have looked at quite a few textbooks out there but only TextFugu has seemed the most optimal for me :) This textbook is very well put together and I hope it keeps up in the upcoming seasons as well! <3
(The Japanese keyboard on iPhone is pretty cool too, it has so many fancy emoticons :D)
Well, that’s my introduction! ^^ Hope you like~ さようなら!(<– is that correct? haha)

Yes many people have posted a link to the hyper polyglot over the years, he’s pretty cool and inspiring. ^_^
And yes you “spelled” さようなら correctly. :)
Check out this thread for some tips on organizing Anki 2 with the early chapters of TextFugu:
