    Hi everyone, Sara here!

I’m taking Japanese as a prerequisite to my Masters thesis in Creative Writing (don’t ask, very odd language exam policies in my university). Being a working student, I decided to go with self-study and signed up for a ridiculously expensive e-learning course. The course was HORRIBLE — memorization, learn by rote, ugly & outdated pictures, and barely any explanations on anything. I mean, Wikipedia offered better stuff! I stumbled upon Tofugu when I needed to understand the why’s and wherefore’s behind using hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Suffice it to say, I haven’t looked back since :)

I’m going to zerg-learn as much as I can because I’m on a tight deadline for my thesis-slash-the-rest-of-my-life, and I’m so glad Textfugu’s there for the ride! Cheers all \(*V*)/
