    Hi fellow learners,

My name’s Balaji, and I first got interested in Japan when I was ~11/12 through Pokemon. While I would like to be able to play through a game in Japanese, my main goal is to be at a level where I could eventually live in Japan, since they are home to 2 of the big 3 console developers, and I would eventually like to work in a computing company. In addition, I am quite interested in basic linguistics, and since Japanese is so structurally different to english, from what I’ve seen so far, I felt like it would give a totally different perspective on how language really works.

Hopefully that’s enough of an intro to allow you to get to know me and my motivations for learning Japanese a bit better, so I’ll leave it there.

    Cheers,
    Balaji

Welcome to TextFugu and Happy New Years!

Good luck on getting in to the gaming industry! And yes you will find that if you study Japanese seriously, you will definitely have a better understanding of how language works. You’ll find that you learn more about English as you study Japanese as well. ^_^
