I’m of Cuban descent living in Florida. I speak English and Spanish, am learning French in school, and am now taking up the quest of Japanese self-study.…..
The following are my reasons for learning Japanese:
I want to live and work in Japan, as either an English teacher or (if I have the necessary drive and ambition) as a lawyer/paralegal.
I want to play Japanese video games in the native language.
I want to read manga and watch anime in the native language.
I want to read Japanese novels and watch Japanese films in the native language.
I want to be totally absorbed into the Japanese culture.

I’m really only fluent in English and Spanish because I was raised in a household that made use of both! Although, my French isn’t too shabby either, I’m nowhere near fluent in it yet.
Learning Japanese is a considerable challenge for me given how different it is from English, Spanish, and French. While Spanish and French are very similar in grammar and vocabulary, Japanese is completely out of my realm of experience.
Nevertheless, I will give it my all!
