Hello, my name is Andre. I love to learn. I am fascinated with language. The way it evolved, devolved, or remained constant. I am fluent in English (it is my native language), and have studied Spanish and other Romantic languages. I find them to be pretty easy.

Living in America, it is hard to ignore the influence Japan has on our country. I feel that it would be in my best interest to learn Japanese so I could better understand what is going on in my own country.

Also, Japanese culture is very different from my own. It is very interesting, and would love to know more about it.

All that said, I want to learn Japanese so I can someday visit Japan and have an idea of what I’m doing. Well, not really. Look, learning a language is difficult. But doing so opens up a whole new world that you previously did not know existed. I want to open as many doors as I can for myself. And learning Japanese is a big iron door. So different from anything I’ve come across. But it will be worth all of my effort.

So far, all I know is hiragana, some katakana, some vocabulary, and how to use です. I came here already knowing all of that, but I went through Season 1 anyway. TextFugu seems promising.

Thanks for reading my long introduction. Feel free to ask me anything. Also, how has TextFugu been working for you?

I couldn’t agree with you post any more! It is so true about the influence the Japanese have had on our culture and country.
