My name is Alicia. I live in Canada. I started to take interest in Japan when I started to watch anime… I’m not really into that stuff anymore though (But I could watch Death Note, Sailor Moon, or FMA over and over and not get bored…). What motivated me to learn Japanese was not anime, but J-Rock, and Japanese music. At the beginning of this Summer, I found the band Golden Bomber. Pretty much, they changed my life. They made me think about all the things I want to do in life. If I had to choose one of the many J-Rock bands I love to see in concert… It would be them. Hands down. I want to learn Japanese so when I do see them, I can talk to them in their language. When I had this idea, I started asking myself, “I wonder what it’s like in Japan.” So I went to YouTube, and found myself watching videos of people talking about their experiences with Japanese host families, and what Japan is like. Everything they talked about seemed so interesting. For the first time, I actually took notice of Japanese culture, and took it seriously.

I really think that going to live with a Japanese host family for a while would be something I want to do. Even if I can’t do that, I would still love to at least visit Japan one day and use my language skills to talk to people online. But I am seriously looking into going to Japan for a long while.

That’s about it. I probably forgot something… Anyways. Life is alright. ☆ ~ (ゝ. ∂) (For any of you Golden Bomber fans out there.)

    Welcome Alicia~
It’s great to develop so much interest in a different culture.
Keep rockin’ and you’ll be sitting in Japan, talking away in no time!

(I need to check out Goruden Bomber now!)

    Welcome to TextFugu, Alicia!

I’d love to be able to stay with a host family too. I’m hoping I’ll be able to in a few years.

    Good luck learning Japanese.
