Hiya, my Internet name is Assiduous Slacker, but to keep things short, just call me Sid. The reason why I want to learn Japanese has its roots back from when I was in middle school when my friend got me addicted to anime. Since then, I’ve realized that Japanese would be a great language to learn for not only my geekyness but also my future. You see, when I grow up, I want to go into computer science. Aside from that, I find the sentence structure to be delightfully different from that of English. My school only teaches Spanish and French, sadly and it’s state requirement to take one of them.( yes I’m in highschool, however I’d appreciate it very much to not be thought of as anything but a student of Japanese on these forums) On another note, Textfugu and it’s sister sites have such amazingly pretty web design. Seriously, every time I go onto one of these websites I’m blown away by the elements that’ve been applied to them. ( I’m going to stop now before I really start rambling e.e) Well, I look forward to learning with you all!

You were expecting something different? Everyone gets thought of as a student of Japanese here.

Sid – welcome! Yup, what Joel said. :) We are all students of Japanese, no matter our age. Welcome and good luck with your studies!

    Welcome to TextFugu, Sid.

I agree with Joel. I’m in my last year of high school too by the way, then I’m going to go to college for 2 years (free here in the UK) before uni which is going to cost a fortune. It doesn’t matter what age you are – we’re all in the same boat here.

    Good luck learning Japanese.
