I’m Amara. :)
I’m learning Japanese because I’m passionate about the culture and the language, as I’m sure many of you are, also. There is so much we can learn from the customs and beliefs of other countries. Especially Japan! Being American, I don’t get any real sense of culture beyond Pop culture and I don’t find it to be anything near worthwhile.
I would very much like to meet new people to practice with or just get to know. We’re all here with a common purpose and encouragement can only help us achieve it.
And just as a side note, I don’t suppose anyone can help me put a profile picture up. I can’t figure out how to do it. :/

Hi Amara, Welcome to Textfugu. I hope that you’ll enjoy studying the Japanese culture and language.
And for the profile picture, you need to get an account at Gravatar with the same email you used for Textfugu. Textfugu will then automatically use the avatar on Gravatar. You should also look at this http://www.textfugu.com/bb/topic/forum-how-to/ to learn a little bit more about the forums.
