Well, I suppose I misunderstood the basic principle of starting a discussion…and made my description/post two words. Yeesh.

To start, I’ve been pretty into anime for the past few years (fascination began with Fullmetal Alchemist), which has led me to branch out into other forms of Japanese culture, including music and food. It also led me to take a Classical Japanese Literature course my senior year in college (it happened to fulfill both my interests and a required credit. score.), and my professor was awesome, to say the least. After going through a myriad of poems, mythology, and forms of literature, I found that I wanted to be able to read the original works.

In addition to the above, grandiose goal, I want to be able to watch anime minus the subtitles and be able to read manga. An even further goal is to be able to travel to/somehow work/study in Japan. The work/study part is proving a tad difficult because I’m out of college, and I’m not exactly sure how to go about the work/study part…
