Hey everybody.  I just bought my textfugu lifetime membership a few days ago.  It’s been a dream of mine to learn Japanese since High School.  Being a small town and the fact that the internet wasn’t what it is today I really didn’t have any resources.

When I got to college I decided to make my first attempt.  It was a failur; though I did learn a few things.  Being a music major I really didn’t have the time to learn a language.  I did painstakingly learn katakana though, some of which has stuck with me.

Now I’m a High School music teacher with a family.  I’m actually even more limited on time now, but in adulthood I am at least a little bit better at time management.   Going through textfugu is going to take me a while.  I’m going to devote 30 min a day to my studies; more when I can but never less.

So why did I choose textfugu?  Well When I decided to pick up this goal again I tried several online self learner sites.  The free textfugu lesson was much better than anything else I tried now or when I was in college, imho.  The pacing was good the text was entertaining and Koichi seems to really be rooting  for us to succeed.

Anyway, I’m glad to be a member here.

Hi Xalphenos, it’s awesome that you’ve kept your dream alive all this time. I’m sure that between your dedication and Koichi’s guidance you’ll do very well. Best of luck in your studies.

Howdy! Welcome to the forums. :) I think studying as an adult makes things easier even though life can be more hectic. We know more as adults and can better manage ourselves. ;)

    Good luck with your studies!
