Why hello there. My name is James and thank goodness for youtube or I would have never found out about TextFugu™. I would have been just another one of the Rossetta Stone victims. D:

I just started today and my reason for doing so might be kinda weird… I’ve always been fascinated by Japanese culture and history. I’m not a HUGE history fan (especially US history…. I just fall asleep) but when it come to almost anything Japanese, all of the sudden I’m awake and interested. I’m not sure but sometimes it feels like maybe I was japanese in a past life or something. Who knows. Long story short I’ve wanted to learn Japanese for some time now but just never really knew where to start. I couldn’t really take a class because the field I’m in is very demanding of your time(medical). I would really like to.. no wait… I’m GOING to learn Japanese so I can speak it fluently(duh) but also to grasp an even better understanding of the Japanese culture. And to help me keep motivated I’ve booked a plane ticket to Japan, so myself and my friend Chris will be visiting for 2 weeks in 2013 and I hope to have even the smallest understanding of the language by then.
