I’ve been learning Japanese a while now (Maybe 18 months? I have no idea) but I only started getting really serious recently. I am quite good at Hiragana and my Katakana is ok, but I always get mixed up because I don’t use it much. I started learning radicals recently and am probably through about half of them.
I am not good with more practical things though, I don’t know that many words and I don’t understand grammar. Hopefully Textfugu will help with these things, it seems pretty good so far. Of course in the end it all comes down to willpower and dedication.
It’s sort of strange that I’m doing this, because I have little interest in anime, manga or even video games. I love Japanese culture though (Woodworking, shin hanga, Japanese history). Maybe I will one day visit Japan, but I am learning mostly because I have always wanted to know at least one language other than English.
Don’t be surprised if this is my only post from now until the end of time, I am ridiculously shy. Well, I think I’ve said everything.
