    I’m Tanya, from England, UK.

So I vaguely decided I’d like to learn Japanese back in 2009 (I first considered it briefly when I was about 11 but decided it would be way too hard with ‘all those symbols.’) I kind of half-assedly learned bits and pieces using a mix of online resources. I basically stopped learning completely a few months later though, when I went to uni and found most of my time was spent on work for my degree and socialising.

I’ve actually been using Texfugu for several months (on and off at first) but only just checked out the forum. I took a break for a while D: but have been devoting more time to it over the past month +

I’m a computer games art graduate but I’ve recently become interested in teaching English as a foreign language. I’ve always been interested in Japan and it’s culture, so I’d like to work there for a least a few years.

It’s difficult to find Japanese teachers around here, and often classes are very expensive, so this website seemed ideal. Plus it’s entertaining which a lot of text books aren’t, and all the information is in one place so I can follow along without suddenly thinking ‘hmm… What to learn next?’

    Hey :D

Yeah, TextFugu is a great resource. For ‘all those symbols’, you should consider checking out WaniKani as well. I am at season 3 now in TextFugu, but recently started WaniKani as well. They work really well together.
