Hi everyone!

After stubbornly ignoring Koichi’s pleas to say hello to everybody on the forums throughout season 1 of TextFugu, I’ve finally succumbed and thought I’d do the right thing and introduce myself. STRIKE, KOICHI-SAN STRIKE!

My name is Adam and I live in the UK, otherwise known as “the land of eternal rain”. I always been a bit of a Japan-aholic, mostly due to the fact my best friend throughout primary school was of Japanese origin – it sounds silly but it’s totally true.

He introduced me to all kinds of wonderful things such as manga, music, video games (Burger Time anyone?), food and I can still remember a good chunk of the Japanese Pokemon rap. Sadly, shortly after finishing school, my best bud moved back to Japan.

I’ve always wanted to learn Japanese, but was suppressed by the evil time monster during high school and university. Thankfully, I have a real, tangible incentive to get cracking now and an awesome learning tool in TextFugu to do so. You see, I run a video game blog and came to the stark realisation that if I studied Japanese, it would benefit my job considerably (…potentially). I also tracked down my childhood best friend on Facebook and have an invite ready and waiting when I’m up to speed! (I’m under no illusion that will take quite some time).

Anyway, if anyone wants to make friends and help each other – remember that I’m nought but a novice – let me know! Just try not to defile our friendship with any fishy smells, alright? ; )
