Hey guys, my name is Matt, I’m 19 (turning 20 soon), and I have yet to introduce myself so here’s my introduction! I actually became a member… Wow, a month ago today. I’m learning Japanese because I am sort of curious about the culture. I have always been a gamer, though not too heavy on Japanese games, some of my favorites are. I like some anime, as well as some Japanese bands and music. I’ve never seen this interest as being reason enough to learn the language though, so recently I’ve been scouring the internet watching videos of Japan, and reading a bunch of different stuff about it’s culture, and even philosophy (I have always tended to agree with eastern philosophy). It got to a point where I figured I would love to explore Japan, as the countryside looks beautiful, and the cities look awesome (I love big cities). I also remembered how much fun I had taking Spanish for two years in high school (they didn’t offer Japanese, it’s rather unfortunate). I figured I could just try to learn a little bit, if only for the summer, just to help me out when my friends and I decide to travel to Japan (which probably won’t be for a while, but better to start sooner than later), and maybe continue afterward if I think it’s worth it. So I eventually found Textfugu and after trying it and finding myself studying around 4 hour’s a day AND having fun, I figured I would become a member!

So TL;DR, I was curious about Japanese culture and think learning a new language can be fun, so I came to textfugu.

If any other beginners want to occasionally practice or anything feel free to add me on Playstation Network, I’m xxSilentSpiritxx, we can just do some occasional messaging, or even do a party. I may not be on too much considering I don’t really have any REAL games on PS4 yet (I’ll be on a lot though come Destiny beta and TLOU remaster)… I’m a slow learner and am not very good, so bear with me!
