    Hi all,

after almost 3 years of pondering, postponing, dragging my feet and hoping for divine intervention I eventually subscribed. Having been to classes locally, intensive class in Japan, not having been very happy with either nor with available text books (mostly student, business or otaku oriented) and being unable to find a male private teacher, I’ll finally give fugu a try. :)

And well, goal is to not only explain the Tokyu Hands clerk that the jika tabi I bought the other day were too large and that I’d like to exchange them but also really understand what he says to me, too. And, more importantly, being able to read Japanese menus! And just having random conversations with random people beyond my very limited current skills where I can usually explain what I need and to an extent deal with the reply but seriously struggling with anything else. And short term, hopefully get a bit of an incentive to improve my skills a little before my next trip in summer ’16.

    Cheers,

    Nico

Welcome! Good luck with that. =)

Can’t say it’s overly surprising that textbooks tend to be student-related. =P
