hi my name is josh and i started learning this a few days ago. I just got on the TS and nobody is on :(
I want to learn japanese because i will be working in an alaskan egghouse and 50% of the people there only speak japanese. And it would be nice to watch anime in japanese.

perhaps it is not the (my) place to say this, but perhaps you meant こんにちは instead of こんえちわ？maybe i am wrong and you were meaning to say something else! anyway, pronunciation is a little tough, and writing what you hear is a little bit tricky!
anyway, welcome again! it is good to learn another language.

it sounded like wa so i used wa lol
im not sure how to fix that. how do you change the name of a post?

But, um… え?
That said, it’s true that the は in こんにちは sounds like a わ, though – there’s a reason for that, which you’ll learn before too long. =)
And an えっち hello to you too. Don’t worry about changing it, it happens. (and editing is only possible for about half an hour after posting anyway)
