Hi! I’m new here, so I thought I should introduce myself :) (I’m really bad at spelling, so please excuse me if I make any mistakes)
My name is Mel (I think I put my display name as Shigure, so you can call me either) and i’m 13, but i’ll be 14 in a couple of weeks. I’m starting my GCSE’s now, and I wish i’d gone to a school which teaches japanese but it’s a bit late to change now.
I am learning japanese because I want to be a top mangaka at Shonen Jump. I hope to move to Japan after I finish college (At around 17-18) and live in Tokyo, and then become a mangaka. I’ve been doing japanese for a couple of weeks, and I can read/write hiragana and katakana – but really I have to be a lot better (as i’m going to have to write in it). I want to know more about the culture of Japan too, I think it’s a really awesome country :)

I don’t know why but I find it really interesting when people who are younger than me join. I’m 14 by the way, 15 in 2 months.
I don’t start my GCSEs until the next School year, which is in 2 months as well. I really wish I went to a School that teaches Japanese too!

I really like your ambition/reason for learning Japanese. You have plenty of time to learn Japanese.
