Hey people,
My name is Alistair and I’m currently living in Japan teaching English… I’m finding that the order in which I’m picking up elements of the language is extremely haphazard and that just storming through grammar in the office isn’t getting me anywhere (well it’s getting me somewhere it’s just not useful) so I thought I would give textfugu a shot. Here’s hoping it makes some stuff make sense to me.
That’s great you wanted to try out Textfugu! How did you end up with a teaching job in Japan by the way?

Hey, so, there’s this graduate scheme known as the ‘JET Programme’ that I applied for because I really wanted to live in Japan/have something to do after I graduated university. Six months, a hellish application, a scary interview in the Japanese embassy and an extended waiting period later, here I am in Japan. Fun so far. My Japanese teachers are extremely intrigued about how I’m learning kanji through this website and stuff, they keep coming and seeing how well I’m doing on Anki.

About three weeks, thus the language confusion. Bombarded with nouns and verbs that I can just about remember but no idea what to do with them.
