Hello! My name is Abby and this year I’ve decided to jump in with learning Japanese, after having talked about doing it for awhile!

I’ve always been interested in Japanese culture, especially art, poetry, film and food, and my husband and I are thinking about spending some time in Japan teaching English. So I would like to learn Japanese in order to make that transition, and life in Japan, much easier! I also have done translation work in the past from other languages, and would love to work on my own translations of Japanese poetry forms. It would also be great to be able to get to know and potentially collaborate with some Japanese artists whose work I admire, and get to know the Japanese art and design community.
