well Wandsworth really.. anyhow, I have always had an affinity to the Japanese culture but never really studied the language because I didn’t like doing languages at school. Fast-forward to nowish – I love Japanese films and became more and more frustrated with the subtitles because 1) reading ‘em takes attention away from the film and 2) translation felt wrong at times. So a few months ago I decided to learn Japanese, I visited lots of sites bought a couple of books etc. even came here and finished the 1st season.

But I didn’t really get serious until I found Wanikani at the beginning of this month. It impressed the hell out of me as my memory is crap and I’m now remembering all these kanji, vocab and radicals. Even though it’s relatively slow in the first two levels it get’s my mind into the habit of focusing and learning. Since this site is also by the same gang I figure the two sites should work well together and so here I am.

Hi and thx Aikibujin. I had already found the anki thread as this is the first time I used it and saw the version difference. The other will hopefully be useful as I do have a grammar query already, but not sure it will be answered as these forums look almost dead at just a couple of post per day :(

If you want a more active forum, ask over on the WaniKani forums. I think I saw you were a member there as well. A lot of people on WaniKani have been through TextFugu as well, so you will find people who can answer questions about the content here too. You can also shoot an e-mail to Koichi himself if there isn’t enough response or answers to your satisfaction. Even though he seems to scatter himself all over the place, he does tend to be timely with e-mail responses if they aren’t too complicated.

    -Cheers
