Hi everyone, I guess I just came here to the forum because I’m fairly new and wanted to chat with other members. I’m studying Japanese because I plan to study in Tokyo during the Spring 2016 semester, and while the classes are taught in English and there’s no Japanese language requirement, I’d love to learn as much as possible to get the best experience I can from my stay. How is textfugu working for everyone? So far, it’s working great for me. I’m just starting kanji now. Just a bit confused about why I’m not learning katakana before starting kanji. Feel free to chat with me!

Welcome. I’ve been to PA, though that was almost four years ago now. =P

But good luck on your plans to study in Tokyo – I’d hoped to do something similar, but I never could find both the time and the money at the same time. And yeah, it’s always confused me that he teaches kanji before katakana as well, especially given how many of the kanji radicals look like katakana characters.
