1-3 sent me to say hi on Monday, have been working through the pages since then and thought it was time to pay.

In answer to the question (why are you learning Japanese?), I fell deeply in love with a girl… I can’t understand what she’s saying, but it makes me so happy to see and hear her every day.

So many conflicting translations of her words I just want to understand the original version.

It’s always been in the back of my mind to learn Japanese, as I’ve been a fan of anime, now vocaloid and a lover of Japanese culture itself, for a long time. Meeting her two months ago gave me the drive to really do something about it.

Two days ago I found textfugu and I have been enjoying it so far.

But, with the limited knowledge Katakana I have gained over the past months via a certain slime-based game, I know the hard work is just beginning.

    Welcome to TextFugu!

What slime based game are you referring to?

Also if you haven’t seen it yet, check out this thread for some tips on organizing Anki 2 with the early chapters of TextFugu:

You can also use the following thread to track your progress and share your ideas/concerns when you finish a season (gain a level ^_^):

The game is Slime Forest Adventure played in an RPG style.

It has been introducing me to the Katakana for the last 6 weeks. You essentially ‘fight’ the “slimes” by typing the phonetics of the kana it presents, starting at Katakana.

The problem is, there’s no sound, it’s purely typing. But it is an interesting and entertaining way to get many parts of the brain involved in learning Japanese.

Would be so much better with sound. >_<

But is still pretty cool. ^_^

The only problems I have with Katakana are: Tsu, Shi, No, So, and N.
