Ehemm. My name is Rebecca, and for as long as I can remember I’ve been interested in everything Japanese. Only recently did I realize this almost-obsession should probably include the language aswell!

I’m a teen girl from rural Canada (No, it’s not ALL rural) so it’s really, really difficult finding resources to learn and study Japanese. Not to mention getting adults to take me seriously in this.
Just cause I’m only 15 doesn’t mean I’m only in it for the immediate gratification and will give up withthin the first two weeks. Gosh. :P

I’m learning Japanese because it’s one of the only things I’ve ever really wanted to learn. I know how many doors a second, or third language can open up and I’m all for it!

Any moral support for this Canadian? I could use it :)

    Hello canadian!

Yes, speaking multiple language is really helpful… Hope you make it through.

So, I wish you good luck and welcome!

    Welcome to TextFugu, Rebecca!

I know what it’s like, I’m 14 (15 in September) and I hate how people assume I’m just going to end up giving up or that I won’t achieve anything from this as it’s just a ‘phase’ – really annoying!

    Good luck learning Japanese.
