Hey everyone! I’m Shannon, 17 and off to college next year for nursing! I plan to volunteer abroad as a nurse one day and I’ve always considered Japan one of my top choices. I know that one of the most important parts of my job will be developing a relationship with patients, and I can’t do that effectively if I don’t speak the language! (Unless they magically happen to know English…wouldn’t that be nice xP) I was going to wait and take some classes in college, but I’ve tried learning Spanish in a classroom setting and it’s just not really my thing. So I figured, why wait? Better to start now and take a while to learn it than have to rush it later and learn nothing! Textfugu seems perfect for my goals, and I can’t wait to start meeting you lovely bunch of people and start learning Japanese!
*sighs at the long road ahead*

Hey Shannon, welcome to TextFugu! I have a friend who’s an RN, it seems like a really interesting job. Good luck in both your nursing and Japanese pursuits! :p

Hi! Very cool that you want to take your nursing skills out into the field, I think! Also kudos for taking the initiative to start learning Japanese early! Nice to meet you! :)
