Hi everyone ^^
I’m Danielle, 21 years old and from Switzerland, and I want to apoligize for my bad English in advance… So: Sorry ^^
I am learning Japanese with TextFugu because I will travel to Japan this summer. I can’t wait to go…
Well yeah… I don’t know what to add, so if you have any questions, fell free to ask. ^^

June 27, 2013 at 1:13 pm #40811Welcome!
Why are you going to Japan? Where are you going in particular? Going to take photos for us? =D
June 28, 2013 at 4:06 am #40824Thank you ^^
I’m going because I’m very, very, very, VERY interested in basically everything involving Japan. People, culture, landscape, history… Well everything. I even wrote my assignment for the Matura (some sort of school leaving examination here in Switzerland) about Japan.
We (my Boyfriend and I) will travel alot and visit several diffenrent Cities. We will start our journey in Tokio, where we will stay 3 days. Next station will be Nikko, where we will stay in a Ryokan. I’m very excited to make this expierence. Afterwards we will travel to Nagano to see how it the Japanese Apls are, because we only know our own Swiss Alps. I’d also like to visit an Onsen nearby, if possible. Our longest stay will be in Kyoto, we will stay 5 days there to take our time exploring the city and the surroundings. Next stations are Nara and Osaka. And before we return to Tokio, we will visit Hiroshima.
We haven’t yet decided what we will visit in particular, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to give us any of them. ^^
We will take lots and lots of pictures. We even bought a new SLR-camera just for this reason. ^^ Maybe we will also make some sort of travel-blog but I’m not sure if we really make one or how we would do this.
June 28, 2013 at 6:12 pm #40828You’ve picked out some cool places!
I’d suggest while in Hiroshima go to Miyajima. It is well worth it.
June 28, 2013 at 9:10 pm #40830I was gonna suggest Miyajima. =P
Actually, I went to most of those places when I was there with a friend in 2010 – we kept a blog (which is at http://japan.jrudd.org ) but most of the photos are on Facebook…
June 29, 2013 at 5:30 am #40832Yes I heard of Miyajima and I think we will visit it.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention how long we will stay in Japan… It’s 3 weeks ^^
Thank you for your exemple for the blog, it looks very nice. I’d really, really like to make one myself, so my frineds and family at home can see what an awesome time i have in Japan. ^^
June 29, 2013 at 2:44 pm #40837“J Rudd”? Related to someone who has been in the Aust news this week?
June 29, 2013 at 2:57 pm #40840Aha, no. Those comments have been made many times. =P
Amusingly, there’s someone famous with the exact same name as him, though I’ve forgotten what he was famous for. Wikipedia would probably tell me…
As for making your own blog, nururama, the easiest way would probably to be sign up for WordPress account ( http://www.wordpress.com ). There is, incidentally, nothing wrong with your English (though I’d understand if you preferred to write your blog in… French(?).)
June 30, 2013 at 8:42 am #40847Thank you for the suggestion to make a blog with wordpress and also for the compliment ^^
My native language would be German, but I had to study French in school (though I can’t really speak nor write), so you are not absolutely wrong ^^
June 30, 2013 at 1:07 pm #40850In my defense, since Switzerland’s got four official languages, I had to guess, and since your name is Danielle, I went with French. =P
July 2, 2013 at 12:49 pm #40892It’s absolutely no Problem ^^
Even people in Switzerland itself always aks me if I orginaly came from the western part of Switzerland (where they mostly talk French) and if I coud talk French because of my name. And I always end up saying that even though practically all of me near family members have French names (My mother: Jeanette, my brother: Jérôme, my aunt: Brigitte, and so on), none of them are native French speakers… We just happen to like French names ^^
July 2, 2013 at 11:18 pm #40896I recall using (very basic) German in a shop in Switzerland only to have the attendant reply in French. What a funny guy.
July 10, 2013 at 12:34 pm #41018Well yeeah… Switzerland is a funny place ^^
