My name is Yasha (pronounced ya-sh-uh) and here I’m gonna share why I want to learn japanese. I feel silly but the reason I want to learn this language is because I like alot of the consumer media like anime, and manga and I want to be able to understand japanese to where japanese sounds like english to me. I dont think this is a very strong reason to learn japanese and I was about to not learn it at all, but deep down I thought knowing another language would be good for me if for no other reason than to expand my knowledge base. If this story resonates with you then I’d love to hear about it.

Japanese media has also been a big motivator for why I want to learn. I’d also like to achieve the level of fluency you alliterated to–as well as be able to read it swiftly. There are several light novels I intend to read and I hope this is the year I’ll be able to start. Good luck to us both! ^_^
