    こんにちは!

I have a question concerning “If”/たら  I was hoping someone could help me with.

Somewhere in Chapter 5 there’s an example sentence that reads:

    えいが を み に いきたかったら ”Cineplex” に いきたい です。
If we go to see a movie, I want to go to “Cineplex.”

I’m confused about the first part, specifically the conjugation of “いく” in the first part of the sentence (in bold).

I was expecting it to conjugate to いったら、like in this example a page or two previous:

    わたし は とうきょう へ いったら、でんしゃ で いきます
If I go to Tokyo, I will go by train.

Can someone please explain what’s happening with いきたかったら?

    Thanks for the help,

    -エリク

Specifically, いきたかったら is the ~たら form of いきたい “want to go”.
