Hello everyone!
My name is Sofia and I’m from Sweden (altho I have lived in the UK for 5 years now!)
I’m 23 years old and Japan as a country has always been a passion of mine. I love the history, the culture and the food. I have just upgraded to lifetime after trying out the first season (and learning loads!) I have previously tried learning Japanese through Rosetta stone but that went really bad (they only focus on Romanji for half the course!). I came here when looking for a resource to learn Japanese. I completed season one in 24 hours and now I guess I’m back for more.
I LOVED realkana.com! It helped me memorise all the hiragana and dakuten in no time! I have completed all the worksheets provided in chapter one and look forward to continuing to chapter two.I guess the main reason I’m choosing to study Japanese now is because I’m going to Uni in September (to do Business and International Relations). As a course requirement I have to take a language for one year and Japanese is an option. However I know personally (since I speak three languages on a native speaker level) that a lot of people pick up a language and then get bored and drop it. So I do not want to be in the beginners group for Japanese in September! *Shudders*
I have bought the book the uni course uses (Japanese from Zero! 1 & 2 for the beginner course) but they haven’t arrived yet (hopefully soon!). However my gut feeling of textfugu so far tells me that I will be learning A LOT more on here then those books can teach me. So I’m pretty positive that I will be able to move on to the intermediate course if I apply myself (or is that wishful thinking? xD). My dream is to be able to go to Japan for my 3rd year (the Uni sends you out to a business related to your course choice, in England or Abroad).
Now I’ll be starting on the Kanji and I’m looking forward to it immensely!
I hope to get to know alot of you personally, I hope you will find that I’m a really easy going person who enjoys a good laugh.
Well thats me, hope to see you all around soon!
さよなら!May 1, 2014 at 5:42 am #45047こんにちは Sofia!
I think you can cover the beginner course independently if you put your mind to it. It’s nice to meet you, and I look forward to seeing you around the forum ^_^
じゃあね!
Not from the desk of Eihiko. Eihiko's boss took his desk away from him.May 1, 2014 at 7:29 am #45048Welcome to TextFugu!
