In the audio of the example sentences, the woman uses a consistent, specific inflection on か as a question marker: descending then ascending. Let me see if I can graph it:

    ····…..··´¯¯

I’m finding this hard to replicate (or at least remember to replicate) when I’m doing my practice. I tend to just go up without first dipping down. How hard should I be trying to replicate the inflection she uses? Is a simple ascending inflection also correct, and the down-up in the examples are just particular to the woman speaking?

    Thanks!

Could you link to an example of this?

Also, I’m almost certain there is no need to worry about this :P

You can hear it pretty clearly in all of the examples on this page except the せんせい one:

I think it might be because all the sentences are so similar and she’s recorded them one after the other, she’s kinda getting into a rhythm :P
In English, if you were to ask one after the other “Is it an apple?” “Is it a pumpkin?” “Is it a lightsaber?”, inflection/intonation-wise, they’d all be pretty much the same. But then if you asked “What time is it?” or “Where is the library?”, you’d most likely say it differently.

Again, nothing to worry about :)
