Hello, I’m Zander from Washington State.
I found Textfugu from one of my random bursts of wanting to do something unusual, so I decided to finally learn Japanese! I’ve always been interested in Japanese culture since my elementary school classes focused on Japan a lot, I had my own pen pal from our sister city and everything! (unfortunately, I didn’t keep in touch with my pen pal after the school stopped making us). Eventually I will take a trip to Japan when I learn the language, and I’ll take along my brother who knows Japanese and has already been there. I also think it would be cool to watch anime/read manga in the native language as there are probably many things I miss in the translation without even knowing I missed them.
Another reason I’ve found to keep studying Japanese since I started with Textfugu is that it would be cool to play some games with Japanese players. I play the MMO FFXIV and once I know more Japanese it will be really cool to play on the Japanese servers and experience how much different it is playing with people from another culture!
Anyway, now I’ve introduced myself and said why I want to learn Japanese, now I can get started on season 2! :D

はじめまして、ザンダー！
I have always wanted to visit Washington! There are a lot of job opportunities for a Computer Whisperer on the west coast, so I’m considering moving there, but I have no idea what it’s like. Do you live in the part of Washington that gets no snow? Or the part that gets a lot?
Also, I think your idea of playing FFXIV on the Japanese server is awesome! I wish I had thought of that >_>

Not from the desk of Eihiko. Eihiko's boss took his desk away from him.I’m in the middle of the part that gets snow, but since I’m on an island my town very rarely gets snow, and when it does it’s never more than an inch or two.
I haven’t seen snow in 10 years. :(
