Hi all, I’m James and I’m from Ascot in England. I am going to learn Japanese because I am very interested in the culture, food, entertainment and everything else really. So, yeah, Hi.

My first question is about time between learning. I went through the first season, learnt all the Hiragana and the pronunciation, but it has been about a month since, whilst I still remember 95% of the Hiragana. Do you think I should go back over the first season as a recap? Thanks.

You don’t need to do that, any of the kana you have forgotten can be looked up as you go. It won’t hold you back, and you’ll be remembering them in no time.

If you have an Anki deck, then you should quickly be able to remember/re-learn the hiragana :)

Hi James, welcome. Like the others suggested, I found a pretty good recap of how you’re doing with the kana was to do a couple of simple exercises like some Anki flashcards, and maybe see if you can do the hiragana drag and drop puzzle (http://www.csus.edu/indiv/s/sheaa/projects/genki/hiragana-timer.html) in a reasonable time (I think chapter 1 suggests under 2 minutes, IIRC).

    Good luck!
