Hey some time ago I was searching for any recipes that were healthy and Japanese, but could only find either sushi (which I don’t like ) and other things which were either fried (not healthy) or had some weird ingredients that are unheard of here like seaweed unicorns or something (Greece)

So, I was wondering if any of you have anything to propose . Thanks!

Hey! Lip them? Lip them? What?

Here’s a YouTube channel (runnyrunny999) I came across the other day (while stuck in a YouTube “Related Video Vortex” at 3am) that seems pretty good. He makes a variety of different homemade foods (as opposed to professional level cookery); some of them will probably be healthier than others. He speaks in English but he has subtitles in Japanese, though occasionally the opposite. Also, he often gives alternatives to the ingredients if they are hard to source in a lot of foreign countries.

Haven’t watched it the whole way through yet, but I found a video of his with “Healthy” in the title :D

Dunno about Greece, but Japanese ingredients are starting to become very common here in Australia, even in regular supermarkets. If you can find roux blocks, it could be worth trying curry rice – I’ve made that in the past, and it’s turned out quite nice. Nikujaga is good too. There’s also about a thousand recipes for okonomiyaki out there (though most of the ones I’ve seen are really just cabbage fritters or something, so it’s a bit hit-and-miss there).

runnyrunny999 actually showed how to make your own curry roux if you can’t find the proper blocks anywhere. Not sure how it compares to the original, but it’s probably a reasonable substitute.

Really want to try making that one :D There are a couple of Asian mini-markets near me, so I’ll have a look for the roux blocks first. If not, making it from scratch doesn’t look too hard :)
