Post any good movies or shows here….anime too! :]

Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any proper Japanese movies or TV shows. I’m not a fan of anime either. I have seen Lost in Translation and Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift but they’re really Hollywood movies. Will check out any recommendations on this page :D
Hanabi by Takeshi Kitano is a classic. And the soundtrack is amazing.
Grave of the Fireflies (火垂るの墓) is an anime movie about two kids trying to survive on their own during WW2 after their city is bombed. Very haunting story.

Absolute Boyfriend Japanese Drama(絶対彼氏)

Bad Japanese movies I’ve seen recently: “The machine girl”i saw big man japan as well. lol. also ‘nobody knows’ that’s a good one…and ‘noriko’s dinner table’ ……………..it’s not a japanese movie but it is chinese ‘ip man’ 1 and 2. they’re both REALLY good. plus has some japanese people in the first one! i’ll have to check out the above ones mentioned sometime!

AnonymousAhhh, I have seen Ip Man 1 and 2!!!! YES THEY WERE AMAZINGLY GREAT. The first one was better in my opinion though.
i thought they were both good. 1st one is always good but the 2nd one was still as good as the first. which is rare
For those shy people who don’t want to post anything ip man and 2 are really good. they have english subtitles and on netflix. can’t go wrong ;)
Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo – actually about Japanese Language (comedy though so uber cheesy)
Solanin – amazing movie. Main song was written by Asian Kung Fu GenerationKids on the Slope – Anime currently airing on crunchyroll
Bakuman – Anime about writting manga; from the authors of Death Note
Chihayafuru – anime; Iffy if many will like this. Really realistic speaking for an anime thoughohh i love death note…only saw a few episodes tho

The plot begins when Moritaka Mashiro, a junior high student, forgets his notebook in class. His classmate, Akito Takagi, notes Mashiro’s drawings in it and asks him to become a manga artist to his stories. Mashiro declines, citing his late uncle, a mangaka, who died from overwork. Takagi incites Mashiro to meet with Miho Azuki, Mashiro’s crush, and tells her the two plan to become mangaka. In response, Azuki reveals her plans to be a voice actress. Mashiro proposes to her that they should both marry when Azuki becomes a voice actress for the anime adaptation of their manga. The two then start creating their manga, under the pen name Muto Ashirogi, in hopes of getting serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump.
