I have a Japanese song that I cannot find or ID. Do any of you have any resources you use for identifying Japanese music? (Soundhound/Shazam/Sony tag/playtag are definitely out) Any apps, forums, services, websites etc. Literally anything able to recognise Japanese music is good.
Thanks,小百合
March 23, 2014 at 10:28 pm #44561I can generally recognise if music is Japanese by ear. =P
In all seriousness, what does “definitely out” mean? They couldn’t recognise it? Maybe try posting a sample here and see if good old fashioned “listening” does the trick? =)
March 24, 2014 at 4:47 am #44565They couldn’t recognize the song. I probably should have clarified that first, sorry! I can’t actually embed it with these forum tags…I could upload it to a website or email it to you.
I just need the title of the song. I know who the artist is, and I have a few of the lyrics. It’s just a matter of getting the title. *sigh* I’ll try to find an online MP3 player thingy and see if I can embed it or share it that way.
March 24, 2014 at 9:46 am #44570who’s the artist and what are some of the lyrics?
=^..^=March 24, 2014 at 10:11 am #44571The artists is Mai Nakahara (中原 麻衣),.
Some of the lyrics I’ve heard are:
Natsu no sora ga azayakana, furuyakeni somaru.
Konna kisetsuga hatashinaku tsuzukedato sou motteru, aneagari no aozora ni mana iro no hikari.
I’ll listen for some more.
March 24, 2014 at 12:16 pm #44574I was hoping to find it on Youtube, so I could be all smug and go “is this the song you’re looking for?” but I can’t seem to find it. Sooo… gonna have to make do with this:

Aye, I found that fairly easily by googling for “夏の空 中原 麻衣”. There’s also a number of places where what you heard isn’t quite correct (though I can see why you made those errors – some of them are fairly hard to pick out).
March 24, 2014 at 3:51 pm #44579:) yes indeed. I found my old Japanese notebook today from the day I first started learning hiragana. Needless to say, it was ugly. :P always striving to improve!
March 25, 2014 at 4:27 pm #44586歌詞(かし)is the word for “lyrics”, so go to google.co.jp, enter that, the artist name, and any lyrics you think you might have heard and see what it comes back with. Even if you don’t know the kanji, Google should take care of that for you. Obviously, if you don’t know the artist name you’ll need to put more lyrics in instead, but it worked for this example anyway :D
