no problems, I guess we have road bumps everywhere, I have trouble with numbers. I know all the numbers and hyaku, sen, and such but the orders get confusing and I get tongue tied and it takes me longer than it should to give an answer when someone says “what’s 46 in Japanese”

So we’re 10 days into the new year… is anyone still working on their new year’s resolutions? I think most people tend to give up within 3 weeks. We can beat the average! ;)

I’m still meeting my goal – at least 30 minutes of study time each day. I’m actually studying a bit more than that but making sure I hit 30 minutes every single day. So far so good!

Regardless of my result from the JLPT test I took in December 2012, I’m gonna study with the intention of taking N1 this year.

In the nearer future, I want to get a high rank in the Tadoku contest. Right now, I’m ranked at low 30′s. I’m gonna try to make that go up, at the moment theres a lot of conflict with the material I’m reading and reviews on Anki.

Otherwise, I wanna be the very best. That no one ever was.

    How are the goals going?

My February recap – 25.5 hours of active learning plus a bunch of Japanese podcasts and dramas. I have a language exchange partner now and she’s been correcting my Japanese (very useful). All in all, fantastic month.

    That’s very productive Winter! Congratulations.

How’d you manage the language exchange partner?

How do you find talking to her in Japanese? Is it all very short, basic sentences? Does she try to speak simple Japanese to you, or does she speak normally and you just have to deal with it? :P I’m scared that if I had someone like that, I wouldn’t be able to say/understand anything beyond a very quick introduction >.<

Good point Michael – the pitfall of Lang-8 again, potentially.
