So I started a Twitter account to practice my Japanese on even though I find Twitter rather annoying I still thought it would be an excellent way to practice my Japanese… So I was wondering if anyone else here has a twitter that they only write Japanese on??

I don’t like the layout and the way it works *shrugs* just not my cup of tea that’s all my own personal preferences I suppose. I am not saying it is a bad site just stating that Its not for me.

another reason I don’t like it is because I have only been learning Japanese for 3 weeks and a lot of them have a habit of correcting my hirigana writing into Kanji…. I am not learning kanji yet -.-

one, I wasn’t “begging” anyone, and secondly I never said it would be easy…I may be conveying your message wrong but you’re coming off a bit rude by saying “beggars cant be choosers” and “the world is not that easy.”

“I have only been learning Japanese for 3 weeks”
How can you get offended by something that you don’t even understand.
Tofugu have made an articel recently so you should know that they are good for nothing.

It may sound brash, but I’m being completely honest.

You say that you do not like how it looks. If you do not like how it looks, tough baloney. That is why I’m saying 「乞食は選り好みできない」 because it sounds like you are choosing not to use it based on how it looks。There are many other sites like lang-8 but lang-8 is the most well known one. Using lang-8 gives people a proper mindset to give you corrections which you will most certainly get so unless you establish good friends on facebook and twitter, no one will care what you write. I write stuff in Japanese all the time on facebook and no one cares half the time about what I write and I barely use twitter. So lang-8 = friendly community ; facebook and twitter = usable only if you have good friends but even then, less reliable

It would be better if you started learning the kanji along with the hiragana and definition. Really, the whole “I’ll wait till I’m good” mentality puts me down. Because exactly when are you going to get good? You might as well dive head first into it and get used to it now, than being 3 months into your learning and finally seeing that にほんご is actually 日本語 or realizing that 感じ and 漢字 is the same pronunciation but different meaning.

How are people supposed to know that you aren’t learning kanji yet? Real Japanese doesn’t consist of only hiragana so of course it is only natural that native japanese person will insert the kanji where they need to be. You say it like its a bad thing, “ughhh they put kanji in again, why can’t you just leave it in hiragana”. The way I see it, the less you use kanji, the more and more it is the same as lying to yourself. It’s great that you aren’t using romaji because you already know how the roman alphabet works. But once you know hiragana and katakana, you just have to move on. I don’t know what kinds of problem you might have with kanji or if you are learning at your own pace, but I highly suggest you start learning kanji immediately. I’m sorry that I completely disagreed with what you said but I would have done the same thing too if I were a Japanese person. I am also sorry if I’m being too straightforward because I really have no reason to sugarcoat things and say things like “oh poor you, the native japanese person didn’t go easy on you because you’re a beginner.” That is what I mean when I say 「この世はそんなに甘くない」

I’m sure the internet is big enough for you to see the difference between what I’m saying and what real trolling is like. If I really wanted to troll you, I would be saying stuff like “your japanese probably sucks and thats why you can’t use lang-8″.

But, if you really never want to come back again, that’s fine too. It’s a huge shame though, there are many people willing to help you here.

How are they supposed to know you don’t know kanji, eh? XD

    #19790

If they didn’t put the kanji in it would be the equivalent of having them posting something like

hai. mai naem ees borb! ai ham pleezd too meat yoo.

and you saying, DUDE, THATS LIKE, TOTALLY PERFECT ENGLISH! YOU SEE HOW IT ALL SOUNDS THE SAME AS THE REAL WORDS?!
