AnonymousLol really now? I’m not trying to discourage you, but nowadays for Koichi to respond to email is like a miracle. Much less actually post on this forum like he did when Textfugu first got started like three years ago…
But honestly, if you’re having payment issues because of Koichi’s negligence, that is just plain irresponsible of him. I’ve often posted in the forums every once in a while about Koichi missing and all, but if he isn’t going to place priority on Textfugu, he should just shut down the whole thing. I’ve learned more Japanese from a 500 yen book from Japan than from here.
And Kuma? I guess he’s lost interest in Wanikani too. Nevermind Tofugu…
もったいない。
June 6, 2013 at 8:11 pm #40566while i do agree that he pays no attention to textfugu anymore, i do still think he does the right thing when money is involved, or at least when you can finally get a hold of him to tell him. i wouldn’t be surprised if he refunded you every penny (of course, my thoughts don’t MEAN that he will) I just think that’s how he usually is. I remember him giving full refund guarantees and such. So even if it takes a while and you get charged again, I’d bet you get it back (here’s to hoping, anyway) good luck!
oh and about the forums, i THINK they are usable for everyone except the super secret sections (that we used to have those practice lessons on… RIP to those…)
=^..^=June 6, 2013 at 11:34 pm #40568Hi everyone! You shouldn’t consider whether Koichi lazy or irresponsible anymore. It probably had something to do with my email server, because he answered when I used the emercengy form saying he never even got my messages! I responded with my other (gmail) adress, and hopefully that solves it.
missingno15: Why yes, hello there! :>
June 7, 2013 at 4:22 pm #40572I wouldn’t say he’s lost interest with WaniKani. As far as I know, he’s still going strong with that and it’s still making money. My guess is that TextFugu just isn’t making the money it used to, so he’s not so bothered. That’s why he’s so keen to be working on Kuma as a separate entity to TextFugu, since he can make more money off it that way. So really I think he’s sidelined TextFugu, palmed off most of Tofugu to the other writers, and is splitting his efforts between his two latest and greatest.
June 7, 2013 at 7:58 pm #40575Glad to see you’re getting it resolved now. I just wanted to say that he does reply to emails, and in a quick and efficent manner, at least in my experience. I was having trouble resubscribing with this account and it took a few replies to get everything resolved, and he even told me he may let me have my account permanently after paying $100 as opposed to $120 since I had so many problems. This all happened just about three or so weeks ago.
Tsetycoon, is this place really that bad?

June 9, 2013 at 7:35 am #40595The thing is, TextFugu would be making money like it used to if Koichi put more effort into it. I know there are people wanting to wait until after the long awaited update to subscribe. Also, it’s too basic for too many people. If he would actually put more content in, more people would have a reason to subscribe. Therefore, more money. Take Myu, the very person that started this thread. She (presumably, from the picture) needs to get her money back because it’s too basic. If Koichi were writing more, he could keep that money, because she wouldn’t already know everything.
That, however, isn’t to say TF isn’t good. It’s just his outright lack of interest that makes me pissed. He’s actually the reason I’m where I am. So I guess I’m eternally grateful, but TF could be so much more than it is right now. All it takes is some hard work. I understand he had a change in thoughts when he decided to start the project codenamed Kuma, but that doesn’t mean he can just go and neglect the very thing that sparked the idea. It feels like abandonment.
Koichi, you’re a cool guy. But you need to finish what you start. That doesn’t mean you can’t work on other things, but don’t take something off the back burner just to put it on a few moments later. However you keep motivated on something, use that for TF. Pretty please?
Also, Tsetsucoon, which book? About how much does it cover, because it sounds like a good price.
July 6, 2013 at 12:51 am #40941You can actually cancel the payment plan in paypal! Go to your archived payments to find your reuccring payment- click view details and click cancel payment!
That way you won’t end up paying any more when you don’t need to. I’m not sure how you’d go about getting your money back, hopefully Koichi responds to you… maybe try to contact him through twitter/youtube/or some other form of social media.
