Just getting started and saying hello.

My girlfriend and I recently went to Japan on vacation and we loved it so much we are hoping to get back for either vacations or maybe to live there for a while. I’m an ecologist and would love to study some of their ecosystems. So I guess my reason for learning Japanese is to improve future trips and/or to be able to work in a foreign country.

I thought I would also post my excuse for not learning such a complex language. My biggest thing is that it is so much more logical to learn Spanish, especially being in San Diego. Really I should have taken care of that throughout my life, but I didn’t.
