July 3, 2014 at 10:30 am #45651How does this website work? I want to learn Japanese and I can speak German and English. What am I gonna do that helps me learning Japanese there?

You write an entry in Japanese. Then you wait till a native Japanese corrects it. When you’ve gotten some corrections, you can see what you should focus on to improve.
To make sure your entries gets corrected, you should also correct some written by people who write in your native language.
Try to search for some Japanese people who learn your native language and send them a friend request.July 3, 2014 at 3:53 pm #45656So it’s for more advanced learners right? I can’t even put up a full sentence yet so I’ll pass on this website for a while I guess :)
http://bakagaijinlog.wordpress.comJuly 3, 2014 at 9:22 pm #45659It is for anyone of any skill level.
July 5, 2014 at 11:27 am #45663I would strongly recommend you using it as fast as possible, Ryuukun. There’s no reason not to get mistakes corrected, and there’s no reason not to get used to making some sentences (even the simplest) as early as possible.
August 12, 2014 at 6:16 am #46246So, what do you tend to talk about on there? Is it like just little diary entrys? That’s one thing that scares me about lang8, that I won’t be able to think of anything to say xD daft, I know. Also that I won’t write more than two sentences :/
But either way, I’ll make an account. Gotta start somewhere, right?
Also, do you tend to stick to the Japanese already within your knowledge or do you also have a jisho handy? Part of me almost thinks it’s cheating :S
August 12, 2014 at 7:27 am #46249It’s not an examination so using a jisho is totally acceptable. I wouldn’t have been able to write any of my entries without a dictionary. Koichi wrote this article where he mentions 12 sentences which is essential for any language. You could try to write an entry where you just try to translate them into Japanese.
http://www.tofugu.com/2013/09/25/what-i-learned-about-learning-japanese-from-spending-3-weeks-in-taiwan/Here’s some topic suggestions:
A random dialog between two old women on the street.
What you did today.
What you did yesterday.
Your pet(s).
How it is learning Japanese.
Hobbies.
What makes you happy.
Your opinions about things.
A trip in zoo. It’s not about writing something interesting. It is just about writing something.
EDIT: It doesn’t even have to be about something. You can just practice a sentence patter you’ve just learnt and write seven or twenty sentence using it.
