So I actually just watched an episode of AKBingo for the first time. I have to say I enjoyed it, though I really couldn’t understand much of what was being said, I managed to get the basic gist of what was going on at least. I reckon I could get interested in this idol business. X)
I do see how it could be a good listening aid, as the vocab used, though beyond me, seemed relatively simple and casual, such as one might hear in daily speech.
Missing, I wouldn’t mind getting your recommendations as to more stuff for a beginner to the idol scene!

I did the very same thing yesterday. As I said in the study thread, it’s a win win situation as you get listening experience and look at beautiful Japanese women at the same time :DJuly 12, 2012 at 1:34 am #33216What episode did you watch? The content of AKBINGO! changes all the time, so recommendation of episodes require that we know what kind of episode you watched ^^. Other than AKBINGO! there is a rather enormous amount of other TV appearances done by AKB-members(not to mention NMB, SKE & HKT), but I think you will have to get an interest in some of the members in order to enjoy some of these shows.
For that reason I would say AKBINGO! is probably a good place to start out, but if you are specifically looking for other shows, then something like AKB’s appearance in ガチガセ was hilarious and I think you would find it highly entertaining even without knowing any members. Now at 11th episode I gotta admit 自動車部 is getting pretty boring, but almost all of it is subbed in Japanese, and you will get to use a lot of your transportation related vocab ^^.July 12, 2012 at 4:10 am #33219wonderful gentlemen! please leave your skype IDs so I can tell you everything in realtime! or send them to missingno15@gmail(.)com
July 12, 2012 at 10:04 am #33229@Mark: Ah, my description is going to be a little sketchy given my limited ability to understand, but the episode I saw had a girl ask a question (presumably about herself) to 5 other girls who were sat round a small cannon that randomly aimed at one of them. If the girl got the question wrong, she was shot with whipped cream. I got more than a few chuckles at seeing their reactions when the cannon picked them and the looks on their faces when they got “creamed”.
@Kanjiman: Indeed, I was hoping to find a programme that could hold my interest and give me good listening practise, and nothing holds my interest like cute girls, innit? XD Though admittedly it makes me feel rather lonely, haha.
@Missing: My Skype ID is “gigatronsama”, though I generally come on fairly rarely. Cheers, mate.

Sent you an email with my Skype id. I’m usually logged onto Skype 24/7 but I’m afk at times. The episode of AKBINGO I saw was titled AKBINGO! 120704 1/2. Seems the uploader has now made the video private. I saw the same thing gigatron did, so It was probably the same episode we watched.

Wow Missing you’re like a freakin’ idol prophet.Uhhhh yeah. Its kinda awkward too lol. Oh well
Anyways, the reason why I asked for you Skype ID’s is because there are things that I like to share with you that cannot be shared here cause Hashi will moderate them. I sent you 2 invites and coincidentally, you are from the same continent AND the same age lol.

That is a new segment that was introduced last week, so unfortunately there aren’t any previous episodes that have this exact segment. This weeks episode does however have the exact same segment :) I haven’t gotten around to watching the entire thing due to having been chatting with a Japanese guy for like 3hours today lol, but I will watch it later. I hope it is as fun as last week, but takamina needs to ask interesting questions just like yukirin did in order to do make it just as fun:D Unfortunately I can’t link you to the episode but just ask missing ;)July 12, 2012 at 1:38 pm #33238Can’t be shared on here?
Skype: bestscammer5
If you would…

August 1, 2012 at 4:31 pm #33924August 1, 2012 at 7:04 pm #33934So yeah, I kinda really want to share this.
I had lots of trouble with the word 一筋縄 and still only had a vague idea of what it meant after I searched it on google (was not listed on j-j dictionaries). So I decided to just learn it anyway when I found out that its a set phrase: 一筋縄ではいかない。 made so much sense.
ちなみに, I got this from nakayan’s 非選抜アイドル. Here are my notes.
