Hi I’m Ben,
I’ve only just joined the site, I’m not quite a beginner but I’ve joined anyway because it looks like a good place to get tips and support.
There are a few reasons I am learning Japanese. I would like to be able to watch shows, movies and play games in Japanese without relying on subtitles, especially Super Sentai which is my favourite thing to watch. I also work in the aquarium in Liverpool Museum and we get visitors from all over the world so to be able to speak to Japanese visitors in their own language would be really great!
This is the first time I’ve ever done anything like posting in a forum so I apologise if I’m rubbish at it but I’m going to try my best so it’s nice to meet you!
Welcome! Hope your journey to Japanese fluency is met with as many trials and tribulations as possible, but that you still have the strength to keep on going through them. The Japanese language might not look like a mighty kaiju at first, but man does she put up a fight.
None of us here were selected to don a colorful suit and pilot a mech, and sure without Akaranger to guide us, or GokaiRed’s ship to sail us through to language proficiency, it’ll be a long and arduous journey, but really what’s the fun in a simple trip to being fluent? If the monster of the week didn’t at least put up a fight, or even transform in to it’s big form, doesn’t it feel like we were cheated out of an episode?
(I also like Super Sentai lol cant’cha tell?)
