I had an introduction in the old forum, too. However, I’m going through the first unites again, since I’m now a member (thanks for your effort Koichi).

First of all, my name is Anna (I don’t know if you see the name Kyokochan93, but you can call me Anna)Actually I’m not from the USA or Britain or another English speaking country but from Germany (If I have a lot of mistakes in my text you are allowed to correct them^^)
I’m 18 years old and I’m learning Japanese for, maybe, 2.5 years now. The reason to start with TextFugu is that I cannot remain motivated. I needed 2 years for the German version of Japanese for busy People. That was really frustrating.

    Why am I learning Japanese?
I want to understand everything you can find in Japanese. Especially J-Pop, Manga, Anime, Japanese TV-shows or movies and books.
I once learnd Chinese but it was too difficult for me because of the pronounciation. Then some day I thought I could learn Japanese, since I’m so interested in many Japanese things. The last reason is that I want to speak one Asian language.

What could be excuses that hold me back from learning Japanese?
No time, because I have to learn my exams.
I’m not getting better at all in Japanese (I hope that will change soon^^)
My boyfriend is chatting with me or wants to meet me.

So, that was a lot, I’m really grateful to everyone who reads through this.

I wish everybody a lot of fun with learning Japanese

Hi Anna, Welcome to the new forum!

Don’t worry your English is very good, a couple of mistakes but they’re probably only typos. I have had trouble too, keeping motivated over the last couple of years… I would learn Japanese regularly for a while, then not study for months and have to re-learn the stuff I’d already studied! :( That was then, and this is now. Don’t worry if your motivation is low sometimes, it happens with EVERYONE occassionally.

    Good luck with your studies!

Welcome Anna! Your English is already quite good, so I’m sure you’ll do well with Japanese, too. :)
