    1. I have a problem it “Japanese Language Support Plugin”. I mainly have access to Anki on my Android. It has been 4 months and I have been doing my Rtk and some Vocab on Ankidroid. I think JLSP will not work on Ankidroid because it does not support plugins? Is it only required for creation of notes (then everything’s OK) or will it have effect on active reviews like ‘Morphman’ I have my phone all day long, but my laptop only for half an hour a day. Can I uase this on Ankidroid?

    2. I am at 2100 of RTK ;_; (I did not know about TextFugu before). But RTk does not have readings. The Kanji system here (TextFugu) is imo better than RTK but I have almost completed RTK and I dont want to relearn prim…sorry radicals and Kanji . Please help me what I should do? Should I create ANOTHER Kanji deck/ Radicals Deck or skip to Kanji-Vocab?

3.Should I download and rearrange all the anki decks now? I heard you will be reworking TextFugu. Will you update the existing deck? Should I wait (to start textfugu) to get the best experience? (I’ll complete my RTK and JP101 lessons till then) Will you rework your sentence decks/ content etc.? I don’t want to work my way through it, then realize oh! a better version is as available( with different and new content) just as soon as I complete it. Any estimates when will at ‘Fugu’ get released? Is one month from now realistic?

    Thank you very much.

    1. I can’t really help you here. Although I use Anki on several platforms (iOS, Android, ChromeOS and Windows), I’ve never installed any plug-ins, so I can’t speak to any problems they may cause.
    2. Finish RTK, don’t bother with the Textfugu kanji sections. In fact, don’t worry about the Textfugu vocabulary sections either; the decks here are overly complicated. Just download a big shared deck with tons of words and example sentences. I don;t think it really matters which one, just make sure that they use the kanji in the vocab. You will pick up readings fairly quickly. Another good (paid) resource is http://www.readthekanji.com. It presents vocabulary in an order that groups words with the same kanji together so you can pick up the reading patterns more easily. The SRS is not great (I think it shows words way to often), but it was helpful for me.
    3. Like I said above, don’t bother with the decks here, they are bloated and not really related to the lessons at all. Use this site for grammar. As far as what’s coming in the new version, nobody knows, and the site creators do not participate in the forums, so you are unlikely to get any feedback from them.

Only thing I have to add is for readings/etc also check out http://kanji.koohii.com – it’s free and is based on RTK. But it’s got readings (or at the VERY least the most common ones) and a whole community behind it. You’ll have to sign up but, again, it’s free.

I recently switched from using a laptop to using a Galaxy Tab A (tablet) I am trying to download decks from Textfugu. I can unzip the files but when I try to open the unzipped section for Anki I get a message that an application cannot be found to run that file. I have Ankidroid installed it has all the old decks from my computer…. I don’t know why I can’t load any new decks from textfugu. Can anyone help?

Megan, if you open up AnkiDroid and tap the 3 dots on the top right to bring up the menu, you will have an option to import. A popup will tell you to place an APKG file in a specific directory. What you need to do is extract the zip file you downloaded, it will contain the APKG file, then move that to the directory which was on the popup. Open up AnkiDroid and go to that import option again and it will automatically import everything you placed in that directory.
