    Hello!

A couple years ago, a friend and I planned to spend a couple weeks in Tokyo. At that time I signed up for Textfugu and started studying. Unfortunately as we started planning we realized the trip was not really an option financially, and we ended up going to Paris instead. That’s not to say Paris was bad, it’s a beautiful city, but Tokyo was something we had both been interested in for some time.

Then, last year, work gave me the opportunity to travel to Tokyo (for TGS). I extended my trip and had a week and a half to basically wander around the city. The effect on me was… Profound. I’ve visited a lot of places but I don’t think I’ve ever gone on a long vacation and felt a pang of regret for having not been gone longer. It’s been a year now (and I no longer have the work excuse to go to Tokyo), and I find myself wishing two things. First, that I had continued studying with Textfugu such that the language barrier had not been so high, and second that I make Tokyo a regular visit for myself. I think the remedy to both of these desires is to return to my studies and prepare for another trip. So, here I am!
Textfugu has changed a lot since I was last here. There wasn’t a forum, for example. And Koichi was pretty much running the show solo. I’m really impressed by how this site has grown and I look forward to studying with everyone. I’ll be starting over from the beginning. Yoroshiku onegai shimasu!
