Heya. I am aware of the fact that every practice sheet is in pdf, and was wondering why that is.

In order to edit it (and do the practice) I have to go to a site that converts it to word.

Am I missing something here, or is this commonplace?

I think we’re supposed to print the practice sheets anyway. I, for one, write down the question/prompt and the answer.

But didn’t Koichi say that actual writing down Japanese is out of the picture ? I am for it too, seeing as it saves time and I won’t be needing to write it down in the future anyway. (Mostly read and type) Doesn’t that conflict with the idea of putting PDF files as tests?

There is a contradiction. Though, since you can’t really “edit” PDF files, they were probably meant to be printed. Writing makes words stick better anyway!

I just open them up in photoshop then type my answers.

I write them down on paper.

Also note that certain PDF formats (which I assume the sheets are in), contain subsets of the fonts used. This means that they will display correctly on any device running Acrobat Reader, even if the fonts are not installed on the machine, and all formatting can be preserved.

I can edit any PDF on my Notability app on my iPad.
