    I was going through the first few Kanji decks in Anki and when it first came up to 七人, I was surprised when 人 was read as にん. 一 and 二 both used り for that reading, so I’m curious when it starts using にん for the readings and why? 人’s page didn’t say much about the にん reading so it threw me off when I first came across that in the deck and I thought I had the right reading until I clicked Show Answer ^^;

    I might have glossed over something along the way, but if anyone can clarify when 人 stops using the __り reading when ‘counting’ and starts using にん, or at least inform me if future lessons will elaborate on this, I’d be very grateful ^^

    一人 and 二人 are the only exceptions – from 三人 and onwards, it’s always read as にん. Koichi doesn’t appear to ever mention it.
